When I was 12, my form teacher used to call us (the children) "Great pretenders."

I have forgotten the reason for calling us that... maybe we are good at playing innocent roles when we didn't do our homework...

You know.. the my-dog-eat-my-homework crap or my-baby-sister-poop's-on-it bull... Anyway, I have used neither excuses..

I don't even remembered telling a lie because of not doing homework.. I juz said I forgot to do.. is so much easier to tell the truth when everyone else is thinking up excuses...

But the point is.. the idea of the "Great Pretenders"..

Maybe.. maybe life is really about the great pretense. You go into roles of a colleague, classmate, friend, a sister or a brother, a daughter or a son, a girlfriend or a boyfriend, a husband or a wife.. n hope to play these roles seamlessly

But somehow along the way.. things always go wrong.. n a pretense can become a hurtful deception.. since after all.. you are juz pretending... do you mean those things you do?

Of coz... there muz be people who mean the things they do.. but maybe there are juz too few of them...

Anyway.. some guyz said this:

To pretend, I actually do the thing: I have therefore only pretended to pretend.

Maybe.. is not wrong to live a life of pretense after all... since we are pretending to pretend?!

Great.. I am going round in circle now...

Nevermind me..

Went to Kinokunya today.. saw a book with a very interesting title..

1000 PLACES TO VISIT BEFORE YOU DIE

the sort of book titles that make you think about what you wanna do with your life and come up with resolutions.. haha..

N therez a rather interestin quote in it...

"Life is not measured by the amount of breaths we take but by the places and moments that take our breaths away."

Erm.. juz find it well said..

Dun wanna write something long and dull about the quotation.. guess is up to you to.. er... see the light of the quote? :p

Of coz.. there is still a chance you dun agree with it at all..

But the point is.. I like it..

Guess I am signing off here...

BTW... Happy Belated Youth Day n... Happy Independence Day! :)

--- My Brother's Bangkok Trip ---

SO my brother has returned from his 4 daez bangkok trip.. it was quite a "FURTIVE" trip as far as I am concerned. I was working when he disappeared. So I juz assumed he went back to camp. It took me a few daez to register this piece of fact -- MY brother had shirk away from his duties again for a holiday trip. Again. And Again. And again again.

Seriously, what do NS guyz do in army these daez? First, he took the PS2 into camp. Then, all my precious DVDs. And NOW, constant trips to HK, Bangkok, Malaysia, Indonesia...

Hello? It sounds better than holidaez.

Right... juz to be back on track... BANGKOK is my topic here...

My brother has been talking about it incessantly since he came back. He said it was DAMNNNN fun. All the clothes and bags (fashionable ones he said) cost only 199 baht (S$8)

He said the food was DAMMNNNN cheap and nice too. Btw.. he ate restaurants everyday. Heard that Thailand had a DOUBLE whopper meal in Burger King. (As if the whopper is not big enough har...)

He himself bought a swatch watch for S$200 and with a two years international warranty. (He emphasized that other places only had one year international warranty.)

So, judging by the way he talked about Bangkok, it seems fun. So I asked him, "WHich is the bez attraction there?"

He went, "Bag bag." (Er... a place that sell a lot of bags.) Apparently, he had degenerated into a 2-year old kid after his trip.

He is now officially the ambassador for Thailand. The "BIG sh*t" er hem.. if you know chinese... or cantonese...

On a more serious note, I bet Thailand is really worth the money.

Laa...

Btw.. my brother bought HELLO KITTY, Doraemon and an unknown cat's handkerchiefs for me. N a Hello Kitty pouch.

Now... I should keep the pouch...

As for the handkerchiefs.. erm... whoz birthdae is comin besides my own?

--- SMS ---

Right.. n TODAE...

Slumbered the day away...

N went out at night.. the chimp-turned-orang went for bowling.. gosh.. there will be a sight...

So the night went on peacefully until on my return trip.. I received smses from a weird number..

For convenience.. this guy will be called 606
606: OK. I booked the room. 1.2. ("WANT TO") have it from the back.
(I saw the unknown number and thought this guy juz got the wrong no. OR might be someone I know)
ME: Huh?
606: I booked the room already.
ME: Sorry who are you and I dunno what you r talking about.
606: SEX. Let's enjoin. (no spellin mistake here.)

GREAT. I thought it was juz some sex maniac smsing randomly. So I didn't reply the damn sms.

Then at 1 am... around an hour after I reached home... I received sms again...

606: Where r u? I booked room 606.
(Politely.. thinkin that he juz got the wrong no. and therez no way the whore could get to him w/o knowing the room)
ME: You got the wrong person.
606: Huh? U asked me 2 book 606. U coming?
(Pissed) ME: Sorry. I think you got the wrong person. If you are looking for a woman, I am a man and please don't sms this no. again. (I nearly said I am a gay man. So he could get the pic if a gay man shows up... )

After a while... bombardment of smses
606: FU*K. U cheat me and u better give caught.
606: Your mother ch*e by* $%#$%&%$*&#!%%$

DAMN.. apparently... being kind enough to tell him he got the wrong person is a bad idea.

YawNz..

Enough of crap.

Sleepin...

Good night guyz

Peeps...

The interview is a little disastrous.. realli

The lady from their admin office told mi is goin to take "a few min"

N it ended after 30 min...

Cool

So guess what the Associate Professor ask me?

"What is the fundamental difference b/w Singapore and HK?"

... I dunno why I did it.. I said PEOPLE.. LOL

"What is the issue of concern in SG? He asked mi to talk about the integrated resorts... cool"

I said I supported it.. becoz... SG is boring.. oh DAMN.. u know what.. I REALLI said that...

Arghhh

Right... so he asked me about media restriction in SG.. n asked mi what would you like to do if there is no restriction...

Guess what.. lala.. I said demonstrations... n I stupidly brought up the anti-war protests (He began to ask me about my opinions on it... great... now I've done it...)

N of coz.. he tried to ask mi about hk politics.....

GREAT... by then.. I talk nonsense... I mean I know sth.. but my brain is malfunctioning by then...

I m so goin to kill that lady in the office...
