DO YOU DARE???
Saw this quotation... find it kinda interestin.. so here it is...
"And indeed there will be time
To wonder, "Do I dare?" and,
"Do I dare?"
Time to turn back and descend the stair,
With a bald spot in the middle of my hair. . .
Do I dare
Disturb the universe?"
~ T.S. Eliot
T.S. Eliot, an English poet who is famous for his poem "The Waste Land".
Anyway... anyone who studied in history might have hear a little about him before. For those who hated history (like Cerise.. ha), his poem "The Waste Land" embodies the sentiment of the early 1900s when Europe lost all thir hubristic spirit after WWI.
Europe was so devastated by the war... that he viewed the future as a "waste land."
ANYWAY.. juz some background information of the poet... :p
Realized I am digressing.. the POINT here.. is... Do you dare?
As for the interpretation.. you gotta do it yourself...
Haa~

Another one... by T.S. Eliot...
"People to whom nothing has ever happened cannot understand the unimportance of events."
THIS...
I wish I can explain to the people in my hall.
Their world is juz those activities they are doing everyday. It is of significance.. BUT not that much.
It's not gonna be life-altering... but the way people feel here is...
"If I am not gonna do this, I will regret it. This is very important because it will affect the future."
Ok...
I don't know why they think so.
But thaz the general sentiment.
Not trying to belittle things done here... but is it really that important?
Anyway...
I've enough.... especially after a meeting when this gal from their Student Association pronounced audaciously, "Education in this hall is indoctrination" when I asked her "Don't you think education here is like indoctrination?"
well...
Though I did rebuke her...
what else can I say when she is so..... indoctrinated?
Sigh...
