Freedom is not a human right conferred by Heaven. Nor does the freedom to dream come at birth: it is a capacity and an awareness that needs to be defended. Moreover, even dreams can be assailed by nightmares.

Albert Einstein was once introduced to the eighteen-month-old son of a young friend. The infant looked into the old physicist's wizened face and promptly began to bawl.
"You're the first person for years," Einstein declared, patting the child on the head, "who has told me what you really think of me."

Anyone who likes Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle should be interested in this new masterpiece of Studio Ghibli.
Yeah... Hayao Miyazaki is NOT involved in its production, but his son is.
Something to do with the genes.
Anyway, the details are still mangnificent, and the scores, as usual, sounds great.
But watching the trailer makes me wonder...
Why does the male protagonist look so much like the heroine in Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind?
There is also striking resemblance of the scenary and character designs.
Something to do with the genes again, I guess. Ideas are cloned.
Who cares? I still wanna watch it.

Read an abandoned journal of mine. The first entry was dated back to 1996. How old was I? How old were you?
Ha.. turning nostalgic from these.
Parts of an entry from a later date...
“每天我都过着循规蹈矩的生活,每日我都重复着昨日所做的事。
起床、上学、放学、回家、睡觉。
再起床、上学、放学、回家、睡觉。
不想说是为了什么。
只能说这是我出生以来唯一懂得的生活方式。
是习惯吗?还是说是恶习吧?
无论是什么,我都不喜欢。”

Erm..
I wonder how would others describe me if they've known what I was thinking then.

Nope. Haven't watch it yet.
Just realized its name, similar to Infernal Affair, has a religious origin.
"Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen."
~ From a Catholic prayer for the souls in Purgatory. Times.com: Faithful Departed
So like Infernal Affair, the lowest level of hell in Buddhism, the Departed is about souls in Purgatory I supposed.
Oh man. Can't wait to watch it.
Argh.

MILD? TRANSIENT?!
How does it feel like when you are smoking cigarettes 24/7?!
MILD? TRANSIENT?!
Wonder how long does it take for Darwinism to occur....
Like devloping gills to filter the air...
We gonna need it in the future anyway.

A continent imperiled by diseases, poverty and conflicts.
Everyone knew about it, felt about it, but seldom do anything about it.
Maybe it's not right to say this, since I aint a meliorist myself.
But many a times, a thought comes to mind -
I shall do this and that for them. Yet, it never quite materialize.
Just like the thoughts of many.
...
Maybe it's time to be less of a misanthrope.

Lectures - Social gatherings
Tutorials - Bumper car rides

Then...
I am going to the theme park tomorrow for a social gathering and two bumper rides.
And oh... by the way...
There's gonna be a carnival at the theme park on Friday.
How wonderful...
Yeah right.

Everything is in a frenzy these days. A bedlam faced by everyman. Just the routine of repeatedly boarding the MRT and getting on a bus is testing the limit of my "drudge tolerance".
Then, there is this song playing on cable.
Maybe it's just the sheer beauty and simplicity of it.
Maybe it's that idyllic place from memory.
Just felt something which I can't quite described.

In La Salle Arts Academy now...
Finding stuff to do.. and what the heck? Why not an entry?
Is it? Or is it not? That is the question.
Yesterday was certainly the lowest point I've had so far for this semester. Impalpability of the modules kinda makes me edgy plus there are other perturbing issues.
Anyway...
Today, it's getting better.

I mean.. yeah... no one in their right mind will BUY albums these days. But there are songs that can't be found online especially when they are renditions by other artistes.
Kinda like this song now...
Five for Fighting - The Riddle
Riddles. I never like riddles. It's too much guess work.
Maybe that's why it's like life in general?
It is, too, too much guess work.

GEK1519 - Science of Music, Music, physics and keyboards
This module aims to introduce students to the science of music.
The aim of the module is to introduce non-musicians as well as non-scientists to the underlying science on which much of music is based. Present-day music theory is based on firm physics and psycho-acoustical foundations which may not be apparent to most listeners but which underlie the rules of harmony and counterpoint. The design and technology of musical instruments also has a solid basis in physics and acoustics. Recent developments in electronic and computer music, as well as sound reproduction, have served to bring music, science and technology even more closely together. Electronic keyboards and synthesizers are now widely used alongside traditional keyboard instruments like the pianoforte for music making.
Great... I am so musically-inclined since I play the recorder and simply love physics that I drop it while in college.
...
Predictably, I will have a marvelous time with the subject.
Oh... and did I mention that it is at an obviously not dreaded time of 0800 in the morning?

According to CNN.com: New UK Hand Baggage Restrictions...
"Each passenger is permitted to carry ONE item of cabin baggage through the airport security search point. The dimensions of this item must not exceed: a maximum length of 45 cm, width of 35 cm and depth of 16 cm (17.7"×13.7"×6.2" approx) (including wheels, handles, side pockets etc.)."
" To help their progress through search points, passengers are encouraged not to include items capable of containing liquids (e.g. bottles, flasks, tubes, cans, plastic containers etc.) in their cabin baggage."
Apparently, UK is now suffering from the post traumatic stress disorder.
...
Well... trying to look on the bright side...
At least it's not a worldwide restriction... yet.

I wish I have his brain. Technically speaking, he ain't even wrong.
It's like the concept of "expression."
Express so-and-so in terms of so-and-so.
Simple. Straight forward.
How ironic it is that such numerical expressions have only one definite answer and expressing ourselves in real life can lead others to different conclusions?

Red and white are sure the colours to go on the day. Who knows? Patriotism aside, there might be offers in selective stores and restaurants just for trying to have the spirit.
SUBA - Cosmo Ladies Night. It turns out alright.
Sitting at MacDonalds in the wee hours and sandwiched between the UN-sober.
Complete delirious joy.
Complete collapse of sanity (FOR YOU GUYS). Seriously, I feel like a mother goose pleading chicks to waddle in the right direction.
Complete guilt of blurting out too much stuff.
Moving on from there now.
Every detail seems to be meticulously attended to and somehow... flawless in an illusionary sense.
Then, rather capricously... and alluringly...

Will anyone want to handle such a wreck?
Will you... handle it?

A visit to my babysitter...
Her granddaughter is so hilarious. There I walked into her place and she kept copying me...
"Granny... I want to wear my pearl necklace." (Because I am wearing a pearl bracelet.)
"Granny... I am very thirsty. I want to drink orange juice." (Because I've one bottle and okie.. I am teasing her about it since I know she can't drink cold drinks at night... la)
And then.. there's the hair...
"Granny... I want to clip my hair." (Guess what.. because I have my hair clipped.)
So... ta da.... the end result...
Copy cat... Hahaha
Recently, I just discover something.
Little girls who are crying will stare at me and forget to cry. It's rather odd especially when they still have tears streaming down their cheeks. Then, I feel obligated to make silly faces...

Sting - Until
If I caught the world in a bottle
And everything was still beneath the moon
Without your love would it shine for me?
If I was smart as Aristotle
And understood the rings around the moon
What would it all matter if you loved me?
Here in your arms where the world is impossibly still
With a million dreams to fulfill
And a matter of moments until the dancing ends
Here in your arms when everything seems to be clear
Not a solitary thing would I fear
Except when this moment comes near the dancing's end
If I caught the world in an hourglass
Saddled up the moon so we could ride
Until the stars grew dim,
Until...
One day you'll meet a stranger
And all the noise is silenced in the room
You'll feel that you're close to some mystery
In the moonlight and everything shatters
You feel as if you've known her all your life
The world's oldest lesson in history
Here in your arms where the world is impossibly still
With a million dreams to fulfill
And a matter of moments until the dancing ends
Here in your arms when everything seems to be clear
Not a solitary thing do I fear
Except when this moment comes near the dancing's end
Oh, if I caught the world in an hourglass
Saddled up the moon and we would ride
Until the stars grew dim
Until the time that time stands still,
Until...
Erm... the sandman is calling me.
Until then. :)

My imaginations can run wild at times and weave out different scenarios for people who make a transient appearance in my life. Especially during a rather dull and hot day.
"This guy obviously has a mistress in mainland."
"These two men look as though they work for a mafia."
Yet, judgement is altogether a different thing.
I believe in reciprocation -
Do unto others as you would have others done unto you.
I mean...
who am I to judge someone I barely know?
In the process, will I be judged too?
Most probably yes. Even without myself passing a judgement on them.
But then again, who cares?
What is important is not what they have said but what I didn't say.

By the way, I saw a rather funny variety show on TVB. It's called "Beautiful Cooking". In the show, they find female celebs who aren't that good in cooking (this is an euphemism to how bad it goes) to compete in cooking dishes. I just came across an episode with Jolin Tsai in it. She managed to make all the judges puke. Ha..
The most entertaining part is the reaction of the judges and hosts.
That episode is too new. But the following episode ain't that bad either.
Beautiful Cooking Episode 3 Part 1
This is the second section of the program. They are given an ingredient in which they have to work on. Normally, it's something raw and alive. This time round is the FROG.... Urp Urp.
Someone don't even dare to look at what she is cooking... haha...
Beautiful Cooking Episode 3 Part 2
The judging. The first two are ok.. but well... the third is exceptional. Ha..

Great. The weather is perfect. Perfect for a slumber.
Reading Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey...
CATHERINE MORLAND goes to Bath for the season as the guest of MR and MRS ALLEN, and there she meets the eccentric GENERAL TILNEY, his son HENRY TILNEY and his daughter ELANOR TILNEY. Catherine is invited to the Tilney's home, the Northanger Abbey of the title, where she imagines numerous gruesome secrets surrounding the General and his house. Henry proves that her suspicions have no substance by, while she is still recovering from the humiliation, she finds herself ordered out of the house by the General. She returns home and is followed by Henry. He explains that the General, mistakenly believing her to be penniless, had been anxious to keep her away from his son. Restored to a sensible humour by the truth, the General finally gives his blessing to Henry's marriage to Catherine.
One of the few Jane Austen's novels that I haven't yet read.
But talking about boredom.. it definitely reaches the apex. An all time high.
AIR... I NEED AIR!

Jewel- Goodbye Alice In Wonderland
It's four in the afternoon
I'm on a flight leaving L.A.
Trying to figure out my life and
My youth scattered along the highway
Hotel rooms and headlines
I've made a living with a song
Guitar as my companion
Wanting desperately to belong
Fame is filled with spoiled children
we grow fat on fantasy
I guess that's why I'm leaving
I crave reality
So goodbye Alice in Wonderland
Goodbye yellow brick road
There is a difference between dreaming and pretending
I did not find paradise
It was only a reflection of my lonely mind wanting
whats been missing in my life
I'm embarassed to say the rest is a rock and roll cliche
I hit the bottom when I reached the top
but I never knew it was you who was breaking my heart
I thought you had to love me
But you did not
Yes, a heart can hallucinate
If it's completely starved for love
It can even turn monsters into
Angels from above
You forged my love just like a weapon
And turned it against me like a knife
You broke my last heartstring
But you opened up my eyes
So goodbye Alice in Wonderland
Goodbye yellow brick road
There is a difference between dreaming and pretending
That was not love in your eyes
It was only a reflection of my lonely mind searching
For whats been missing in my life
And growing up is not an absence of dreaming
Its being able to understand the difference between
The ones you can hold and the ones that you've been sold
But dreaming is a good thing
Cause it brings new things to life
Pretending is an ending
That perpetuates a lie
Forgetting what you are
Seeing for what you've been told
Truth is stranger than fiction
this is my chance to get it right
Life is much better without all of those pretty lies
So Goodbye Alice in Wonderland
You can keep your yellow brick road
Cause there is a difference between dreaming and pretending
These are not tears in my eyes
They are only a reflection of my lonely mind finding
They are only a reflection of my lonely mind finding
I've found whats missing in my life

Wonder why there are so many reports of suicides recently.
Wonder if these people feel that they have finally controlled their lives for once by taking the inevitable route to the paranormal? Wonder if they are happy now?

On the ferry to Lamma Island...
That's Zoe. Sheila & Scott's pet. She's realllllly hungry.
This dog had been sitting very still at the entrance for a LOOONNNG time. Maybe it reads the sign... (Notice the partial "no dog" sign on the top right corner?)
This is Sheila... she rented a place there... Gosh... I wanna live on that island!
Sunset at the beach on Day 1
Day 1 on the beach... not in the waters...
Roasting at the beach on Day 2... I am not roasted at all... I used half a tube of sun block... La...
Right.. I know I look terrible in the photo and Lila looks great.. but the POINT is... I AM SWIMMING!!! (O... K... I am lying... I can't. Argh.)
Lila on the phone... Day 2... :p
Before going back to the civilised world... Sigh
Okie... now this is something to work towards...
Isn't it wonderful to work in a cosmopolitan city like HK and still retain a fragment of tranquility by staying in a place like Lamma?
Aw... wanna be Sheila's neighbour...
Came across the "Secrets of supermarkets" in "HK Magazine". It's rather enlightening:
Secret 1:
Staple needs such as eggs, shampoo etc are always place at the far end of supermarkets whereas perishable products such as bread in bakery are always station at the front of supermarkets so that you got to walk pass all the "non-essential" products sections before reaching to what you REALLY need.
Secret 2:
Companies pay high prices to place products at eye-level of the regular female customer while expensive cereals are normally place at eye-level of children.
Secret 3:
Supermarkets place normal priced products at the end section of racks to increase profits. This works on the misconception of the regular customer that products placed at the end section of racks are always promotional items.
So avoid the traps.

And for the first time in Singapore, I actually gave a note to someone on the street. Just to commendate his good choice of songs. Haha...
I still think the lyrics are great. And in a very cliche way, I think this song has a soul of its own.
Erm.. maybe it's the irony that the song was played somewhere where those listening seldom have the choice to do things their way that makes it exceptionally wonderful to hear.
It's like amidst the buzz that makes us lose our head, there is a lone voice standing. Like a forgotten dream in everyone's mind.
Ok. Maybe I am exaggerating a little. But that's how I see the song.
MY WAY MTV (is quite old though)
And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way
Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way
I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"
For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!
Yes, it was my way.
Well.. is nothing.. but something stupid..
I bought a new quilt from IKEA sometime ago. Being such an animal loving person, I bought one with duck down.. ok and feathers. (At least it's not pure feathers.)
But ever since my brother made that comment of smelling ducks in my quilt, I think I am beginning to smell ducks in it too.
Is it just me? Or is it really the quilt?
Cause' I am getting the feeling of sleeping in a "duck" coop. Ew.

Wonder if you have heard of the Six Degree of separation theory...
It's about how people are all interconnected in a circle of friends where friends of friends know other friends who happen to know some other friends and eventually it become a circle when the some other friends know that first friend.
Right.. I am making this complicated. Anyway, just to encapsulate it all, the theory suggests that people are all acquainted in such a way that it will never be more than 6 people.
Have it ever occur to you? When there is someone you have seen and never got to know them but just to realize that they are actually acquainted to you through some friends' friends.
Still, it does take a little fate to know them. Isn't it?

It's a phenomenon Einstein believed would happen to the universe after millions of years.
As of date, it is proven that the universe begins with the big bang and have been expanding through time ever since.
It's like a deflated balloon with points drawn on it. As it is inflated, the balloon stretched with the points getting further apart. The points are like galaxies and stars getting further apart through time.
Ok. Most cosmologists believe that the universe will expand infinitely but Einstein believed in the big crunch. It simply means a reversal procedure in which the universe will contract till it gets back to its original form and with the amount of pressure gathered...
another big bang will occur.
Enough of the facts.
Anyway, what's amazing is how he believed that stars that were dead will revive. I wonder how about life on Earth. I supposed humans don't revive?
Just makes you feel so tiny in this place. I mean.. we are just transient beings passing through a point of time in the universe. And the "point of time" will be so small, it's probably microbian. Or worse.
Whatever.
Anyway, sometimes is scary to think that one will just fades away after a microbial moment.
It's like a .. erm.. a race?
You have to run. You can't stop. And you know as you run, you are getting closer to the finishing line. But what's beyond there when you can't run any longer?
Guess everyone will find out for themselves.

She was so busy.
Wiping table tops, clearing trays and sending away orders and what have you...
It was a terribly crowded day.
Yet, she smiles.
There is something about that.
She looks so... contented.
It's weird.
Was ridden with an unfathomable sense of guilt.
It's like.. I can never be like her.
That contentment from a thing so... trivial.
Trivial to me. Trivial as I think it is.
That definition of triviality is what I am guilty of.

Portugal Vs. Netherlands.
Nearly wrecked my nerves. Especially when POR was a man down. I was kinda praying there would be a red card for the other side too.
Then... in the end, TWO red cards on EACH side. And about 16 yellow cards?
DUR. What was that for? Collecting cards for a round of poker?
POR won 1-0.
But... how are they going to survive losing key players for the next match?
Just can't bear losing to their next opponent. Anyone but them.
Haiz. I am getting depress.

Away from the hassle of modern technology which seems so hard to grasp.
Ok, this does seem ironic coming from me.
I mean I use laptop, desktop, television, fan, air con, PS2, fridge and what have you... How could someone like me survive without modern technology?
Since when did our dominance over technology backfired and began to control us?
But who knows?
Leave me in a place where things became unaccessible, maybe the first thing I missed wouldn't be anything advanced.
Maybe I will appreciate other things more.
But then again, who knows?
P.S. By the way, regarding the world cup, those funny hats people worn to cheer their teams... do they make them themselves? Is kinda cute. :p

Nothing eventful really.
Going to HK in July.
Anyway, I saw this big roach in my room the other day. (Yaya.. the only "interesting" thing happening these days.)
After that, I basically kept my windows shut for the next few days. (OK... I am assuming that the roach came from outside and I don't beg to differ.)

Duh.
Multitasking now.
Watching football - ITA and USA (Yawnz. And no offence. But I REALLY DO NOT like ITA.) They are always so sore when they lose.
Actually, I was planning to watch Band of Brothers (The miniseries produced by HBO. It's about D-Day landing of the paratroopers from Easy Company.) And then.. HEY... ITA just got a red card. Woo hoo.
Great. I am turning into such a crouch potato. I will most probably be MIA till end of the tournament.
It's as though I have a self-imposed curfew these days. I got all uneasy when the clock ticks towards 9 pm and I am still at someplace without a big screen.
And what is wrong with the WEATHER???!

Yawnz...
I am sleepy. The match was such a bore.
Right... gotta make a list of teams I am supporting since they will be the motivation to watch world cup. Imagine - the last final in 2002 - Germany Vs.Brazil- I miss it because it's simply so predictable and well... I don't support either sides.
Gonna support:
Portugal
Spain
Czech Republic
Trinidad & Tobago
Ghana
Great... why do I have a feeling I am not gonna watch the final anyway?

I can't miss this. IS PORTUGAL for goodness sake...
By the way, Iran and Mexico are so boring, I nearly bore to tears. There is no flow at all. By the way, did I say England's match yesterday was ultra boring? Or did you know already?
Seriously, maybe Angola plays even better than Mexico and Iran. (At least for now) And that referee... isn't he giving away yellow cards a little too easily?!
Right...
Just crapping. As usual.
Ciaoz.

World Cup finally started. Nice start. 4-3 to Germany. Watched it. And I don't even support Germany or Costa Rica.
Duh. Second half of the match between Poland and Ecuador now. Anyway, if Ecuador win, I must be so good in predicting. But then again, normally you are good at predicting the winners and losers as long as you don't place a bet on it. (With the exception of betting on Brazil.)
Anyway... Group B tommorrow.
9pm: England vs. Paraguay.
England shall win it, isnt it?
Well, just to make it a point - I don't support them. Erm.. I realized there is something similar between SG and England hur...
Look...
Singapore
- Aim to qualify for world cup by 2010.
Condition: Delusion of granduer (Serious)
England
- Win the world cup this year
Condition: Delusion of granduer (Mild)
Yawnz. Same condition. Right.. I am crapping. England is good. But.. not good enough just yet.
Then there will be Sweden vs. Trinidad and Tabago (Did I get the spelling right?).
Okie. I always support the Iberian, Scandinavian and African teams. So I am in a dilemna. (Haha... like they are dying for my support or something.)
Hopefully, it's a draw. I mean Sweden looks like a sure winner against the first timer. But then again, Sweden got kicked out by a first timer 4 years ago. Who knows?
Great. I am crazy. And it's gonna get worse as these matches go on...

Kinda meaningful...
And.. well.. I cut my hair short. The weather finally got to me.
Okie... is just partly about the freaking weather. It's also partly because of being sick of having long hair. I mean I don't wanna have long hair continually for the next 5 or 10 years of my life.
That will be boring.

I am near to slumber in the cinema until a terrible couple sitting besides us begin to stir things up. They are really @#&@^!*.
Anyway.. this is what really happen..
Today... I went to have lunch with my grandaunt and my counsins... rather unwillingly. My grandaunt just came here from toronto so I am kind of obliged to have the meal with her.
OK.. then we went for a movie. There's me, my cousins and my brother. And then the freaking couple who were sitting close to the aisle started their vulgarity ram at my cousins and brother because they need to pass by them to go to the loo. (Seriously, what's wrong?)
ANd I.. have the daunting task of sitting besides them. Apparently, my brother accidentally kicked the woman's flip flop and she fumed. She started saying fu*king hell... lack of education... etc. etc.. (Like my brother can hear them when he sit so far inside.)
I am really pissed since they were raising their voices like it's n-o-n of anyone's business. I just turned and APOLOGISED. (You know.. normally it works..)
Me: Ok. I am sorry. That's my brother and I don't think he done that on purpose.
Woman: Can you pick up my shoe? (is a flip flop) Your bloody brother kick it so far away.
Me: (Take the flip flop.. damn.. I have the urge to throw it in her face.. and there they were still making a big fuss) I am sorry. (Yeah right)
Basically.. I try to ignore them.. but they started having a conversation between themselves when in fact it's for US to hear..
Woman: People no education. Kids.
Man: Never go to school. Don't know how to behave. School never teach.
I can't help it.. I sniggered.
Man: People cannot understand English. (Then started speaking mandarin in Singapore style) Ta men ting bu dong ying yu, yau jiang hua wen. (Trans: They can't understand English, got to speak mandarin.)
HAHA. Damn. If I can still stand those dispparaging comments, that would make me a saint. So... well.. I just turned and said...
"Sorry. I am not a local and I can't understand what you are saying. Anyway, we have apologized. (Get over it!) Can you please concentrate on your show?"
I have a tough time controlling this time. Really.. I don't wanna make a fuss over some teeny weeny stuff. It just makes me similar to them if I do that, right?
Anyway... they continue "making conversations" though in a lower voice. I couldn't care less. I must admit that the thought of shaking the guy's hand to congratulate on how noble he is to endure such a girlfriend did once cross my mind. (Less victims to fall under her prey you see? Though the guy is not a lot better.)
Still, kinda glad that they make a dash for the exit before the credit comes out. Ha.. so I could turn and tell my brother and cousins something I hold back for the whole show.
Erm...
nevermind is just a Cantonese slur.

It's like beginning to live in the past. Older people always have this syndrome. Those in their twilight years. It's not that hard to understand... since there must be a point in life when you realize that the future is nothing but a route to the inevitable - Death.
I mean.. that's when people begin to look back. That's when the future is no longer a valid path.
Erm.. why am I saying this?
Seriously, I have no idea. It's just a random thought. But that doesnt mean people our age don't look back in the past. I believe it's a form of escape. It's like telling yourself about the better times so you can forget about now.
Dwelling in the past and showing contempt to the current situation. Maybe.. everyone do that. But then again... guess everyone just accepts that. It's just parts and parcels of life.
But why?
Why just accept that? Is it neccessarily preordained?
There must be something we can do if we want to. The question is.. how much are you willing to do to get there?

The weather is so freaking HOT!
What is wrong with it?!
Have you heard about the phrase "a train of thoughts"?
When I think of the word "weather", the train goes moving on my mental tracks.
The first related word that comes to mind is UNBEARABLE. INTOLERABLE. (er.. whatever.. it is just DAMN HOT!)
And then I think about going on the offensive
Right. This means I bought a fan that resembles a turbo engine.
So basically..
I on the turbo fan AND the air conditioner (on powerful mode) at night. PLUS a mini fan to cool off my CPU from the outside.
I know this is not economical. But this is an emergency and you NEED emergency measures.
Then... the third thought that comes to mind is... if there is really a next life, PLEASE make me live in Iceland. I would rather see tropical countries as exotic.
ARGH. HOT.

And then.. I saw the new interface design Nintendo had for their game controller - Nintendo Revolution Controller
So... it is designed and targeted at those who DON'T play video games. They reckon the usual design is "too complex" for those who hate gaming.
The magazine says, "It's too hard for them. Like homework hard."
It looks like a wireless TV remote that sense the movement of your hand. (Alright.. I think it sounds weird. But it's "revolutionary" you know...)
So if you are playing Mario, you just move your hand up and down to jump. If you are playing sword fighting, you just jerk your controller front and back.
That's the idea... same for tennis, shooting, walking your dog (for the galz.. thaz so discriminatory.. why walking dogs?!) etc...
An advertisement for the controller... (weird...)
Advertisement for Nintendo Revolution Controller
Well.. it does feel like someone changing the QWERTY keyboard back to an ABC keyboard.
Who knows? It might work.

This reminds me of Little Lulu and Bobby...
Talking about Bobby... That'z one name I always stereotyped...
It always remind me of a poodle... those that are groomed with orb-like fur balls stucking out...
Oddball really...
Or someone round... It's really an egg-or-hen first issue...
I mean...
Does having the name "Bobby" makes someone round?
Or...
does a round person just pick that name to make themselves more.. er.. consummate?

1. GET BACK MY FREAKING HANDPHONE..

(Damn.. I didn't go for lecture)
A) Something about the media limiting the options to narrow down the horse race in elections..
B) Something about the US army...
C) PR uses intelligence to manipulate the media
D) A & B
E) A & C
F) Ok. I don't know. I didn't go for lecture! Happy?
And option F is really there...
My lecturer can really read mind...
I mean... everything is relative isn't it?
You think someone as fat because you know someone who is thinner.
Then someone to be mean.. because there is someone nicer.
And then there is always the gamut - Nasty, mean, so-so, ok, nice, wonderful...
The point is...
I don't judge people (at least never openly).
I don't mind being judged (since that is human nature anyway).
But there is no way I will be over the moon because of a compliment or totally downtrodden because of someone's distaste.
Ha...
Just say "Heck" and ask them "get a life!"
Good luck.

My favourite ABBA's song - The Winner Takes It All...
Yawnz..
Gosh.. I have been watching South Park like it is nobody elses business. (Yaya... it is nobody elses business anyway..)
But it just got to be the coolest cartoon around.
Okie.. if you do watch South Park and saw the recent one on Oprah's talking asshole and vagina.. please discount that episode.
That was stupid. And Stan did not even make an appearance. Duh.

Barely...
Studying acnes now. ACNES?!
And papules is the medical name for pimples.
Whatz the point of having two names for one thing?
Is not like people with outbreaks will cry out "Oh.. I have papules!"
And the pictures are giving me goosebumps.
Found a group that "supports acne" (basically means anti-acne)

Child Abduction "The Great Wall of South Park"
Just love that child tracker and that mongolians' invasion..
"God damn'it! How come us Chinese try to put up a wall, stupid mongolians have to come and knock it down!"

See...
I am having exams soon. (REAL soon) and guess what I did for the good part of my time?
I went on to watch All the President's Men at 2 in the morning!!!!
The story about two Washington Post journalists conducting investigative journalism on a seemingly innocuous burglar case at Watergate Democrats Office which other press didn't give a second thought on. As it turned out, it was bugging by the Republicans, involving CIA, FBI, the White House and the Republican President of the time - Richard Nixon.
As the story unfoils, they realized how fraudulent it was. The President not only tapped wires at Democrats' office, but sabotaged opponents by sending out fake letters etc. to win his Presidential campaign even a year before the Watergate. Washington Post Site on Watergate
What really interest me is how the President wasn't brought down by Somebody but two Nobodys with the clarion of a pen.
Knowing that at least half the rest of you will not be remotely interested, I know I am losing it.

Oh.. and a stupid MTV in cantonese on "Cursing Pimples":

zzzZzz
By the way, who came up with the religion Scientology. Is that a religion anyway?
The word seems weird.
You see.. there is "scien-" which literally says science..
and "-ology" which mean science as well.
So.. scientology is "science of science" which is a religion and it believes in aliens?!
Oh.. okie.
That makes sense.

Wow... what a great movie on English football!
Kinda star struck. There are Shearer, Defoe, Kluivert, Gerard, Baros (when he was still in Liverpool), Benitez, the lots from Chelsea and the lots from Real Madrid (yes.. Zidane, Raul and argh.. that much despised Beckham) and the England manager...
Watch the trailer here
Turns out that this is just the first of three installments. The main character is now in Newcastle.. guess where he will be transfer to next?
Real Madrid.
Goal II: The journey continues
By the way, they got real footages from matches and the funny part is the actors will go into the field pretending to have win the match with the other REAL players once the full time whistle s blows.
Can't wait for the last of the trilogy too...
Know what is that about...

Or are you too rational for it?
Erm...
Either ways..
Catch A Haunting on Discovery Channel on Saturday night if you have cable at home and some free time to spare.
This is a 6 part series with a different story each week told by witnesses who said that they have experience contact with the supernatural world.
Seriously, I am not a big fan of horror genre.
I mean... why should I subject myself to scenarios that exacerbate heart debilitation.
What for?
So that I can pay more to the doc when I grow old?
But that was a notion I have for horror movies. Just the fictional kind. I do like the idea of getting tales from real life people who said they see them.
Of course... this can be fictitious too.. but then again... the gag of eye witnesses work for me.
So be a a couch potato once in while!

Only for the nothing-better-to-do fellows out there...
Content from this week A Haunting: Echoes from the Grave
Buying the House
In a particular year during 1960s, a newlywed couple with four children from their previous marriages bought a new house that was built in the 1920s. The couple, being young and not financially stable, got this house at a rather cheap price and were looking forward to the good times they can have in the new house. But there was something ominous about it. The landlord who leased the house said something telling to the jubilant couple as they drove off after the deal....
"I hope you are good warriors"
...
So the family moved in. Things were going well though there were things out of the ordinary happening around them.
The tap kept on turning on by itself. (The mother just dismissed this to the fact that the house was old.)
The window in the master bedroom was nailed dead when they just moved in and someone was making a racket at night.
And one particular incident was still remembered by the mother and her son after so many years.....
One night after having their dinner, mum was putting washed dishes onto a dish rack. The son was helping his mother out by passing washed dishes to her. This seems ordinary only that when she turned to place the dish on the rack, it had moved from the left side of the sink to the right.
Both the mother and child were stunned. Yet, mum tried to convince her son that it had been there all along. She then moved the rack back to its original position nonchalantly.
The Fire Alarm
In a few consecutive nights, the mother had the same nightmare of a fire burning down the house. This woke her up night after night till one day she smell gas in the house and call in for people to check on the pipes.
The person checking the pipes told her something alarming - Pipes were leaking and the house would have become a large bomb waiting to be detonated anytime. (Of course.. this could be JUST pipes leaking.)
The Soldier and the Woman
The mother took on the offensive and got two experts in visiting the house. The medium (person whom ghosts can talk through) was disassociated from herself and talked about the presence of two spectres.
One was a soldier from the time of civil wars in America and the other, a woman who insisted that the family in the house were slaves to her. The family was puzzled by the fact that the spectres were there even before the house was built. But then again, it was told to them that these spirits were not there to haunt the house. Their existence were linked to the land and any house built on that piece of land would have suffer the same fate as the mansion.
The medium gave the family names of the spectres and pled the spectres to move on while the other expert who came along talked about supernatural power that the mother possessed. Because of her traits in sensing them out, it attracted the spectres to stay. In fact, the mother had a feeling that the soldier was protecting the family from the other vicious spirit.
Safe?
If the family thought the medium had settle the problem for them, they were DEADLY wrong. A cousin to the father got very interested in the issue and went to check up on the names provided by the medium. They were real people existed in the 1700s and were killed on the piece of land the house was allocated on.
But not only this... it was found out that every family who stayed in that house had a family member killed before they moved out...
The family was more than frightened by now. In the end, they found buyers who said that they were interested in the house BECAUSE of the haunting. (Crazy or what?) Before they left the house, the mother felt that someone talk to her. It was Nicholas the Soldier.
According to the show, he said, "Dont ever come back to this house ever again. Because after you leave this house, I will be leaving too and there will be no one to protect you."
...
What do you think?
Alright.. I think I am the nothing better to do fellow here.

This is hilarious too.
Ha..
This time it's in cantonese.
The story begins with McDull going to the market place with his mum. He saw a goldfish in a fish tank and wants his mum to buy it for him.
But his mum went "Son.. is already hard looking after you. You still want to have a goldfish?"
In the end, his mum compromise by saying that she will get it for him if he scored 100 marks in his test.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
McDull studied hard. (Though he just ends up writing a few lines of "umbrella" for his test. haa)
Scored 100 marks but his mum has completely forgotten about her promise.
It was like....
Mum: SON.. You are so smart. What do you want to have for dinner?
McDull: I want a goldfish.
Mum: Son. You can't eat a goldfish.
When she finally recalled it, she gave McDull a fishball saying that it is a fish egg that will hatch if McDull give it a lot of loving attention.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Funnily, McDull named it "umbrella" although it sounds like "um- banana". Haa
I find the part when his friends were in awe of his fish egg hilarious.
They were like.. "WAHHH... You are so smart."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Luv his mum.
Well...
In the end, his hard work did pay off.
A musical version of Romeo and Juliet in New York. This time the story revolves around the protagonists of Tony and Maria who belong to two feuding gangs - Jets and Sharks respectively.
The two gangs are reflective of the society in NY then - Jets representing the Americans and Sharks as the immigrant population of Puerto Rican.
Showing at Esplanade from 7th April to 30th April...
Anyone?
Come on... Where is the "Arts renaissance" going to? The dogs?
GO.
Huh?
I gave the person an incredulous look and responded with a smirk.
"Do I look that young?" (YES!!!! I wish.)
Erm...
This is not the first time it happened. But it is just weird that it did.
I started wondering what suggest to them that I am just 16?! (Oh.. sweet 16... seems like a distant land..)
Got a feeling is the hair.
Instead of the usual curls, I got it straight today.
Reminds me of the other day when a sales commented "You cant be from secondary school because your hair is permed."
Talking about people being skin deep, it is more on hair surface these days hur?
It's a broadcast drama starring the voice of Eason Chan and Miriam Yueng. A story about a girl who is mute and a guy who can't express himself.
Apart from the occasional seriousness, it's funny!
But then..
this created a problem..
I uploaded the ten episodes into my mp3 player and started bursting into fits of giggles while listening to them on the street.
Erm...
Are you thinking what I am thinking?
Er.. well...
I am not crazy.
You know that, do you?
(Enlarge it)
There are times when you see certain memory as indelible.
They are suppose to be etched in your mind forever.
But then again, no forever is really forever.
It is still a finite term.
It just last as long as you remember saying it.
And well...
you know..
You can't recall it forever.
